Pelvic Pain Treatment in Stillwater, MN.
Chronic pelvic pain is real, common, and treatable. If your imaging is clear and your labs are normal but the pain has not gone away, you are not crazy and you are not stuck. Pelvic floor PT addresses the system that is actually driving your symptoms.
What pelvic pain is.
Pelvic pain is any persistent or recurring pain in the pelvic region. It can show up as deep pelvic ache, pain with sitting, pain with intercourse, tailbone pain, vulvar pain, or pain that radiates into the hips, low back, or abdomen. It affects all genders.
The thing most people misunderstand about pelvic pain is that it rarely has a single cause. It usually involves the pelvic floor muscles, the nervous system, breath, posture, scar tissue, and sometimes hormonal factors. Treating only one piece rarely resolves it. Treating the whole system often does.
When to seek physical therapy.
- • Pain or pressure in the pelvis
- • Painful intercourse (dyspareunia)
- • Tailbone pain
- • Deep pelvic ache
- • Pain with sitting
- • Vulvar pain (vulvodynia)
- • Pudendal pain
- • Pelvic pain that has not responded to medication or other treatment
How physical therapy helps.
Hands-on manual therapy, both external and internal when clinically appropriate. Down-training the pelvic floor when it is over-tensed. Nervous system regulation. Breath and movement work. Education about pain science and how the body protects itself. Most clients see meaningful change in 4 to 8 visits.
What to expect.
60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Bethany. We talk through your history, symptoms, and goals. A movement and posture assessment. A pelvic floor assessment may be offered (internal or external) only if clinically useful and only with your consent. You leave with a clear plan, a take-home program, and the next step.
Hi, I am Dr. Bethany Reuter.
I started Enhance PT because I was tired of watching patients get rushed through their care. After years in traditional clinics, I knew there was a better way to practice physical therapy. One where the person on the table actually came first.
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced training in pelvic health, orthopedics, dry needling, visceral manipulation, and concussion rehabilitation. I treat every client like the only client on my schedule, because for that hour, they are.
If you have been brushed off, told to just live with it, or shuffled between providers who do not talk to each other, I want you to know there is another path. And I would be honored to walk it with you.
