Dry Needling in Stillwater, MN.

Dry needling uses thin, sterile needles to release muscle trigger points, restore movement, and reduce pain. Done well, it works fast. Done in isolation, it does not last. At Enhance PT, dry needling is part of a full hour of focused care.

What dry needling helps with.

Chronic neck and back tension
Headaches and migraines
Shoulder impingement
Hip and glute pain
Plantar fasciitis
Sports overuse injuries
TMJ and jaw pain
IT band tightness
Calf and Achilles tension

How dry needling works.

I palpate the muscle, identify the trigger point, and insert a fine sterile needle into the band of tissue. You may feel a quick twitch, a brief ache, or instant release. The needle stays in briefly. The result is reduced tension, improved blood flow, and a window of opportunity to retrain the movement patterns that created the problem.

Why my approach is different.

Dry needling at Enhance PT is never the whole treatment. It is a tool inside a full hour of one-on-one care, paired with hands-on work and movement reset. Most clinics use needling as a quick add-on. I use it where it belongs, alongside the work that makes the relief actually stick.

What to expect at your first visit.

Full 60-minute evaluation. We discuss your history, symptoms, and goals. I assess movement and identify the muscles driving your pain. Needling may or may not be appropriate at the first visit. If it is, we use it. If not, we build the plan and use it later. Consent is required before any needling is performed.

Dr. Bethany Reuter, DPT, owner of Enhance Physical Therapy in Stillwater, MN

Hi, I am Dr. Bethany Reuter.

I started Enhance PT because I was tired of watching patients get rushed through their care. After years in traditional clinics, I knew there was a better way to practice physical therapy. One where the person on the table actually came first.

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced training in pelvic health, orthopedics, dry needling, visceral manipulation, and concussion rehabilitation. I treat every client like the only client on my schedule, because for that hour, they are.

If you have been brushed off, told to just live with it, or shuffled between providers who do not talk to each other, I want you to know there is another path. And I would be honored to walk it with you.

Common questions.

Does it hurt?
Most people feel a brief ache or twitch response, but it is generally well tolerated.
How is it different from acupuncture?
Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and meridians. Dry needling is based on Western anatomy and targets specific trigger points in muscle tissue.
How long do results last?
It varies. Needling combined with movement retraining tends to produce longer-lasting results than needling alone.
