Knee Pain Treatment in Stillwater, MN.

Most knee pain is not a knee problem. It is a hip and ankle problem showing up at the knee. Treating the system, not just the joint, is what gets people back to running, hiking, climbing stairs, and squatting without pain.

What knee pain is.

Knee pain can come from a specific injury (a fall, a twist, a torn meniscus) or build over time from how the body loads. Common diagnoses include runner's knee (patellofemoral pain), IT band syndrome, meniscus injuries, arthritis, and post-surgical recovery from ACL or knee replacement. In nearly every case, what the hip and ankle are doing matters as much as what the knee is doing.

When to seek physical therapy.

  • Runner's knee or pain with running
  • Pain going up or down stairs
  • Pain with squatting or kneeling
  • Swelling that keeps coming back
  • Post-surgical knee recovery (ACL, meniscus, knee replacement)
  • Knee pain related to arthritis
  • Recurring strains that keep coming back

How physical therapy helps.

A full movement assessment from the foot to the hip. We identify how the knee is loading and what is creating the pain. Treatment includes hands-on manual therapy, strength work targeted to the hip and core, movement retraining, and progressive return-to-activity programming. Most clients see meaningful change in 4 to 8 visits.

What to expect.

60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Bethany. Full history, full body movement assessment, hands-on treatment, and a take-home program from the first session.

Dr. Bethany Reuter, DPT, owner of Enhance Physical Therapy in Stillwater, MN

Hi, I am Dr. Bethany Reuter.

I started Enhance PT because I was tired of watching patients get rushed through their care. After years in traditional clinics, I knew there was a better way to practice physical therapy. One where the person on the table actually came first.

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced training in pelvic health, orthopedics, dry needling, visceral manipulation, and concussion rehabilitation. I treat every client like the only client on my schedule, because for that hour, they are.

If you have been brushed off, told to just live with it, or shuffled between providers who do not talk to each other, I want you to know there is another path. And I would be honored to walk it with you.
