Chronic Back Pain Treatment in Stillwater, MN.

Most chronic back pain is not a structural problem. It is a movement, control, and load problem. The fastest path out is finding what is actually driving it and rebuilding from there.

What chronic back pain is.

Chronic back pain is pain that has persisted longer than 3 months. It can be a constant ache, recurring flare-ups, sharp episodes that come and go, or stiffness that limits how you move. Most people have tried stretches, rest, or medication and gotten temporary relief at best. That is because chronic back pain is rarely about a single tight muscle. It usually involves how the hips, core, breath, and movement patterns are working together.

When to seek physical therapy.

  • Low back pain lasting longer than 3 months
  • Recurring flare-ups that keep coming back
  • Stiffness that limits bending, twisting, or sitting
  • Pain that radiates into the hip, glute, or down the leg
  • Pain with sitting, standing, or lifting
  • Back pain that started after pregnancy and never resolved
  • Pain that is not responding to medication, rest, or stretching alone

How physical therapy helps.

A full movement assessment to identify what is actually driving the pain. From there, hands-on manual therapy, dry needling where appropriate, movement retraining, and a strength program targeted to the specific drivers of your case. Most clients see meaningful change in 4 to 8 visits.

Dr. Bethany Reuter, DPT, owner of Enhance Physical Therapy in Stillwater, MN

Hi, I am Dr. Bethany Reuter.

I started Enhance PT because I was tired of watching patients get rushed through their care. After years in traditional clinics, I knew there was a better way to practice physical therapy. One where the person on the table actually came first.

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced training in pelvic health, orthopedics, dry needling, visceral manipulation, and concussion rehabilitation. I treat every client like the only client on my schedule, because for that hour, they are.

If you have been brushed off, told to just live with it, or shuffled between providers who do not talk to each other, I want you to know there is another path. And I would be honored to walk it with you.
